About Me

Bryan Smart

I’m a musician, programmer, and teacher. I started programming when I was 9, grew the skill in college, and eventually spent several years exercising it for fun and profit at Microsoft. I’ve been creating electronic music since my mid teens, currently have a home studio where I write and work on projects for others, and provide training, support, and other technical assistance for customers of Dancing Dots, a small software company that produces accessible music software for the blind.

By the way, I am blind, and so a fair portion of my life involves the use of technological solutions that attempt to compensate, with varying success, for my lack of sight. Depending on computers for the essentials of living is a great way to add a huge amount of stress to life. Consequently, technology is my savior and my tormentor, but that’s just how it is.
